What I’m Reading/Watching

Advertising-related things that I’m reading/watching and enjoying.

The Craft of Copywriting by Alastair Crompton (London: Century Business Ltd.)

The Copywriter’s Handbook by Robert W. Bly (New York: Owl Books)

The Consumerist Manifesto: Advertising in Postmodern Times by Martin Davidson (London: Routledge)

Words in Ads by Greg Myers (London: Edward Arnold)

Ogilvy on Advertising by David Ogilvy (New York: Vintage Books)

Confessions of an Advertising Man by David Ogilvy (London: Southbank Publishing).

Mad Men – One of my favourite series yet.

Social Media 101 – Tactics and Tips to Develop Your Business Online by C. Brogan (Hoboken: John Wiley & Sons) is of great help as to how to use blogs efficiently and how to create a relevant network for your online business.

Mythologies by R. Barthes (London: Grafton Books) is a great book about the modern myths that evolve from signs within the contemporary culture. Read this if you want to understand why you see the world the way you do.

Campaign is a weekly UK magazine that provides the latest news in advertising.

A truly useful book for those who are new to the advertising industry is Contemporary Advertising by W. F. Arens, M. F. Weigold and C. Arens (New York: McGraw-Hill Irwin, 12th Edition). The book offers a thorough introduction to the main concepts that make up advertising not just as a component within the marketing mix, but also as a strategic use of creativity.

Guerrilla Advertising by G. Lucas and M. Dorrian (London: Laurence King Publishing) compiles some of the most unconventional brand communication campaigns around the world.

This blog is looking tight. You sure have writing talent. We fetch up to $ 50 for each blog review we write. It is a good way to bring in extra cash with the current economy. The particular company We author with has a ton of unfilled openings if you are interested.
